Andy works out of his own Greystoke Studios which is a very personalised recording studio built in 1991. It boasts an unrivaled range of over 50 working vintage keyboards including the EMS VCS3 (used on "The Dark Side Of The Moon" by Pink Floyd), the Mini Moog (the fattest synth ever made and used on most US R&B records for the bass synth), a Wurlitzer electric piano (Supertramp, Doors, Duffy), a Hammond C3 (Bob Marley, Santana) and so many more (pictured). In fact the collection includes nearly every notable classic keyboard made from the 60s to present day!
As a guitar player Andy also wanted his recording studio to be well equipped to cater for guitarists. Greystoke has an American Fender Stratocaster, a Sunburst 1980's Gibson Les Paul and a 1971 special edition Fender Twin Reverb Amp as a starter!
The studio has a fully isolated vocal booth and some very desirable microphones including the acclaimed AKG C12. Greystoke has a good range of boutique, vintage and hand-wired outboard gear including 2 Avalon 737sps, a GML 8200 EQ and PCM90 reverb.
At the heart of the setup is a very high spec Apple Macintosh 3.2GHZ 8 core Mac Pro with 26G RAM running Logic Pro 9. This is coupled with an Apple Cinema Display 23" HD Flat Panel. The most pristine AD/DA conversion is provided by an Apogee Rosetta 800, giving Greystoke the ability to provide 192kHz sample rate recording should it be required.
